BOTA-licious

BotatarotI'm not always sure what to make of BOTA, or the "Builders of the Adytum," but I loves me some Paul Foster Case, whose under-appreciated little jewel, The Tarot, is a mighty fine (if BOTA-flavored) introduction to esoteric meanings of the Major Arcana.

The BOTA Europe web site has a cool online summary of the BOTA take on the meanings of the Tarot Keys (a.k.a. "the trumps" or the Majors), complete with color images from the BOTA Tarot. Entries include a general overview of the symbolism on each card (in English so plain, A. E. Waite is likely spinning in his grave), plus a brief table of correspondences.

On a side-note: I'd love to see what an organization like BOTA might become if, as a group, they adopted some twenty-first century technology. Their signature offering -- their Tarot course -- is still exclusively available as a printed, snail-mailed correspondence course. Come on, people! Channel some Fool and Chariot energy and give me an RSS feed already!
